About Dalhousie

Dalhousie is a very beautiful tourist place located in the middle of the Dhauladhar mountain ranges. It was settled and developed by the British in 1854. This place was named Dalhousie on the name of Viceroy Lord Dalhousie. British soldiers and bureaucrats come here to spend their summer holidays.
It is a hill station situated in the midst of charming plains and mountains. It is crowded with tourists in summer.

Best Places to visit in Dalhousie

1. St. Patrick's Church -

It is located on Military hospital road, Dalhousie Cantt, 2 kilometers from bus stand. It was constructed in 1909. This is the largest church in Dalhousie and 300 people can sit together in the main hall. This church is looked after by the Catholic Diocese of Jalandhar. It is one of the most beautiful churches in North India.

The greenery all around and the very peaceful environment attract tourists towards it. Here you will get supreme peace. Along with this, this place and the building of the church are also very attractive to see.

2. Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary -

Kalatop Sanctuary is a 30.69 km² animal sanctuary at Kalatop and Khajjiar in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is about 6 km from Dalhousie. This place is very good for trekking because wonderful and beautiful views of wildlife are seen here while trekking. The 19.63 km² area of the sanctuary is covered with dense deodar forests.

This place is no less than a paradise for wildlife lovers. While roaming here, you will get to see many types of animals. Also tracking will give you a good workout.

3. Panchpula -

Panchpula is 5 km away from Dalhousie. This beautiful place has small bridges after which the place is named. Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sardar’s uncle Sardar Ajit Singh died on the day of India’s independence. His tomb is also built here.

5. Pohlani Mata Temple -

Pohlani Mata Temple is a Hindu temple of Kali Mata. It is about 8 km away from Dalhousie. There are green hills where many tourists also do camping. Beautiful views of the Pir Pinjal range can also be seen from here.

Apart from natural beauty, Dalhousie is also famous for adventure activities. This is such a tourist place where you get a chance to do almost all kinds of adventure activities like –

1. Paragliding – This place is very famous for paragliding there is 3 to 4 different places for paragliding.

2. Trekking – As you know that Dalhousie is an hill station, due to which there are many such places where you can do trekking. There are many treks here for trekking.

3. Camping – If you are interesting in camping, then you also get chance to do camping here. Here you can do camping on the peaks and enjoy bonfires under the open sky.
